These terms apply when you use the Doczi AI Android app. By installing it, you agree to them.
What the app does
Doczi AI scans documents, edits and converts PDFs, and offers AI features such as summaries and translation. Most tools run entirely on your phone. AI features need an internet connection.
Your documents are yours
We claim no ownership over anything you scan or create. You are responsible for having the right to scan, edit and share the documents you put into the app.
Free and Pro
The scanning and PDF tools are free to use, with no limit on how many documents you keep. Free accounts get a limited number of AI actions per day, and PDFs created on a free account carry a small Doczi AI footer.
Pro removes the footer and raises the AI limit. Pro is a subscription billed through Google Play. It renews automatically until you cancel.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time in the Play Store under Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds are handled by Google Play under their policy. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, because we never receive your payment directly.
Fair use on AI
Each AI request costs us money. Pro includes a monthly allowance, shown on the Pro screen in the app. If your usage is far beyond normal personal use, or looks automated, we may limit AI access on that account. We will tell you if that happens.
What the AI produces
AI summaries, translations and answers are generated by a language model. They can be wrong, incomplete, or miss something important.
Do not rely on them for legal, medical, financial or any other decision that matters. Read the original document. The AI is a helper, not an advisor.
Conversions and text recognition
Converting between formats and reading text from images works well on clean documents and less well on blurry, handwritten or unusual ones. Layout, fonts and tables are often not preserved. Always check the result before you rely on it or send it to someone.
PDF passwords
If you put a password on a PDF and then lose it, the file cannot be opened again. Not by you, and not by us. There is no recovery. The same is true of the app’s own PIN lock.
Things you must not do
- Use the app to forge documents or signatures, or to commit fraud
- Remove passwords from files you do not have the right to open
- Try to break, reverse engineer or overload the service
- Automate the AI features or resell access to them
Availability
We try to keep the AI service running, but we do not promise it will always be available. The offline tools keep working regardless.
We may change or remove features. If something significant changes, we will say so in the app.
Liability
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost documents, incorrect AI output, or losses arising from your use of the app.
Keep your own backups of documents that matter to you. The app stores files on your phone; if the phone is lost or wiped, those files are gone.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access to the AI service for accounts that break these terms.
